If there is an MoU/agreement with your home university/institution, the terms and conditions laid down there will apply. Otherwise, the latter need to be worked out before an exchange is possible. In general, international BTech, MTech and PhD students at IIT Mandi are treated at par with their Indian counterpart concerning course work, accommodation and campus life.
If you have a degree from an Indian university, you will be treated on par with the Indian nationals for the admission process, cf. M.S./Ph.D. Admission.
If you don't have a degree from an Indian university, your educational qualification should satisfy requirements equivalent to those of Indian nationals, cf. M.S./Ph.D. Admission, International Students. In particular, you should have a valid score in one of the following

If you intend to transfer credits earned, find out the respective procedure of your university. For most of the countries a visa will be required (confer the VISA Application link to the right), which should be applied for well in advance. It is further recommended to familiarize yourself somewhat with the Indian culture before you enter the country. After your selection, you will be contacted by the Office International Relations and given advice and guidance concerning your arrival and settling in at IIT Mandi.
